Making a Sadist Tick
During extensive conversations with your everyday, run of the mill sadists, it’s been explcitly explained to me, contrary to popular belief, that their sexual arousal has nothing to do with nonconsent.
The very assumption that nonconsent is what excites them is considered an insult to their allure, intellect, personality and charm…. and it’s also laughable. And make no mistake, it is a condescending laugh.
A new study,The Sexual Responses of Sexual Sadists to be published in The Journal of Abnormal Psychology next month, sheds light on teasing apart this assumption between sadists and rapists by looking at consent and measuring arousal response. The findings were that ”sexual sadism primarily involves arousal to violence/injury in a sexual context rather than resistance/nonconsent.”
The majority of the sadists I’ve interviewed do consider themselves abnormal, but balance that with a strong belief that it correlates to a higher sense of intelligence and human understanding, “A simple, vanilla relationship just isn’t enough for someone like me.”
Another said, “There may be force and there may be pain, but there’s no need to be nonconsensual, my subs are there because they want to be. The mind is powerful enough”, and without skipping a beat, “you should know something about that.”
