Set path, display image, one at a time. So you have your T1 (structural scans @ high resolution), Run 1 (functional scans) and Run 2, reorient to AC, Oh did you even create an analysis folder? Nope. Do that, silly. Now groan and start over. Ok, save the Run 1 to All. Jot down the inverse of the location coordinates. Whitebar it. Manually find the AC - enjoy this part, it’s fun and you feel like you’re doing something…and jot in the negative values from above and save to all images. Ok, fun is over. Realign making 2 sessions w. 106 scans in each.  Estimate and reslice (mean image only) and run that batch for a txt file. Get your slice timing on, co-register it up, segment, normalize and smooth it out. Boom! Now, go turn around and come right back cause it’s modeling time: Set directories, you always forget that part dummy, then specify levels (e.g., 2 sessions/2 conditions ea), define contrasts (e.g., -11000000), list main effects & interactions, Results & overlay time…remember where the file went? Of course not.. ok, it’s under cananical in course in the SPM8 folder. psh.
Time: 1 hour. May experience excite!, doubt and extended periods of anguish. Call your PI if any feelings of slight confidence last longer than 4 hours, because they’re likely unfounded.
